The [artificial] intelligence newsletter

N°7

Roberta Wohlstetter (1912-2007)
Pioneer of modern intelligence

How can we achieve disruptive innovation in the long term?

The continuous integration of R&D into products is a major challenge for technology companies like ours. First of all, R&D allows us to position ourselves as a unique player who offers disruptive innovations. But to continue to grow and become a reference player, we must be able to integrate state of the art research while industrialising the company.

And this is where the balance can be difficult to find.

To answer this question, we have already told you about our AI Factory. This framework allows us to integrate state of the art R&D into the core of our products deployed at our customers' sites while continuing to grow.
In this 7th edition of Roberta, we go a step further by detailing an example of R&D integration: image simulation and by publishing a simplified version of an article written by our R&D team on neural architecture research.

As in every edition, and to perfect your tech culture, we decode a vocabulary word: "NLP", which is used to fight against "fake news". Used during the Second World War, disinformation was the speciality of Elizabeth McIntosh. Her story is told in the last episode of our podcast.

And in the spotlight this month, science PhD and entrepreneur Aurélie Jean, whom we had the chance to interview for the release of her book “Do Algorithms Rule?”

Have a good read,

Arnaud Guérin and Renaud Allioux, co-founders of Preligens
