But few people really know - and understand - what's behind it. Do you?

A word of vocabulary

A transformer is a learning model belonging to the field of machine learning, and more specifically to deep learning. Tailored for natural language processing (NLP), the transformer is a deep neural network designed to ingest sequential learning data using attention mechanisms. In other words, the transformer makes it possible to integrate ordered sequences of words, symbols or even events, then to represent them dynamically according to their context of use, but also to identify these different contexts at the same time, on a sentence or paragraph-wide scale.

Eric Sibony - Shift Technology

Could you tell us in concrete terms how Shift Technology's AI solutions help detect fraud in the insurance industry? Can you give us some examples?

Since the creation of Shift, our first objective has been to offer insurers a SaaS solution for fraud detection based on artificial intelligence. Fraud is a major problem for the insurance industry, representing more than two and a half billion euros in losses per year in France alone, not including health insurance and personal protection. A burden that is reflected in the premiums paid by policyholders.

Pioneering AI solutions for a safer world.

Preligens was created in 2016 by two engineers, Arnaud Guérin and Renaud Allioux, on the belief that intelligence professionals would never be able to cope with the tsunami of data made available by the huge investments made in sensors. They came up with the idea of using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate the analysis of this multi-sourced data and tip and cue analysts to unusual events requiring their expertise.

Based in Paris and present in 5 countries, Preligens employs 230 people, mostly scientists who form the largest AI team for Defence in Europe. The performance and accuracy of Preligens' solutions, which are internationally recognized and proven in the field, enable its users in the defence sector to be quickly enlightened about complex situations.
